Frames Matter

Quality frames make a huge difference in your optics and your overall satisfaction with your eyeglasses. We sometimes are frustrated by new patients who come in and have never been told ‘no’ on frames that did not fit them. By the time we see them, they are frustrated, have headaches, or generally are just “making do” with their look. We’re not just frame stylists: we’re trained opticians who have all been in the industry for a long time. We will find frames that are made to fit your unique face with your prescription – and nobody else’s. We take into consideration a huge variety of factors: face shapes, current trends, lifestyle decisions, aesthetics, ideal optics, functionality, and your own sense of style. To do that, we carry about fifty different brands and thousands of eyeglasses in our Tucson office.

The Right Lens Material for You

We have an impressive selection of lenses for your frames consisting of different compounds. These materials suit different needs so you can be sure you have the best eyeglass frame and lens set up for your specific needs.

High Index LensesThinner, lighter, and flatter than ordinary lenses. These are ideal for high prescriptions that would otherwise involve very thick lenses, or even impractical in glass or plastic.

TrivexTrivex lenses are thinner and more lightweight than plastic or glass, but not quite as light as high-index lenses. More impact-resistant than all other materials, and are ideal for people who work in construction, children, or people who just habitually get scratches on their glasses.

Polycarbonate LensesIn addition to Trivex, we recommend polycarbonate lenses for children because of their impact resistance – they are not going to shatter or splinter if impacted. They are also relatively lightweight compared to plastic and glass.

Lens Options

There are dozens of lens options available to you at Arizona Primary Eye Care. From No-Glare to the various Transition lenses, Progressive Additions, we have your eyeglasses for Tucson living. We typically get lenses back rather quickly because we rely on a Tucson local lab, just a few miles from our central office, to manufacture our lenses. They do a great job, we’ve always been very happy with their work, and we feel fortunate that we can work with a local optics lab that’s so close by.

Insurances We Accept

We contract with most insurance companies (see the list below), and participate with VSP and Medicare to cover your eyeglasses Tucson prescriptions. As a courtesy, we also bill primary insurers on behalf of our patients. That means that insured patients only need to worry about their copay at the time of the exam; we will coordinate and accept payment for the rest with your primary insurer directly. The co-pay of your visit will depend on the specific insurance provider. If your provider happens to be unfamiliar to us, we can contact their business by phone and make sure we are contracted with their plan. If your insurance does cover your visit with us, we always accept cash, credit cards, personal check, Care Credit, etc. If you would like to apply for Care Credit, click here. The following is a list of some of the insurance companies that we accept. If your insurance company is not on this list, call us to see if we are contracted with them.
