Dr. Cheryl Schmitt is an Arizona native, born and raised the daughter, and granddaughter, of 2 exceptional Optometrists. She is passionate about continuing their legacies in providing Optometric care and has found true joy in the practice of eye care herself. Having been in practice for almost 20 years, she welcomes the opportunity to use her expertise, and experience, in the care of your eyes.
Dr. Schmitt is a graduate of the University of Arizona and received her Doctorate of Optometry from Pacific University. She is active in her chosen profession with service on the local, state, and national level. She is past president of the Arizona Optometric Association and currently serves as a board member of its charitable foundation. Although important to be active in one’s profession- Dr. Schmitt knows there is more to life than career alone!
In addition to her love of her practice and patients, Dr. Schmitt is a devoted Arizona Athletics fan. She and her family enjoy attending games to support their beloved Wildcats. She believes there is no entertainment venue as magical as McKale center! Dr. Schmitt enjoys an active, family-focused lifestyle. One of her favorite parts of being an Optometrist is building a relationship with her patients and being given the privilege of learning about their interests as well!
